One to get you going

Making a rub with chillies is a great way to add some heat and flavor to your meats, poultry, or vegetables. Here's a simple recipe for a chilli rub:

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Rub the mixture onto your meat or vegetables, using your hands to make sure it's evenly distributed.
  3. Let the rub sit on the meat or vegetables for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  4. Grill, roast, or bake the meat or vegetables according to your preferred method until cooked through.

Note: You can adjust the heat level of the rub by adding more or less cayenne pepper. You can also substitute other types of Chilli powder, such as Chipotle or Ancho, to customize the flavor of the rub to your liking.
