This sauce is designed to add a luxurious touch to your steak, making each bite an experience of creamy, spicy, and savoury flavours. The fresh red chilies bring a vibrant heat that awakens the palate without overwhelming it, while the heavy cream provides a smooth and luscious texture that coats the steak beautifully. The addition of shallots and garlic infuses the sauce with a depth of flavour, creating a robust base that pairs perfectly with the richness of the meat.
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-3 fresh red chilies, finely chopped (adjust to your heat preference)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup beef or chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare Ingredients:
  1. Finely chop the shallots and garlic.
  2. Finely chop the red chilies, removing the seeds if you prefer a milder sauce.
Sauté Aromatics:
  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped shallots and sauté until they become translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and chopped chilies, and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add Liquids:
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and beef or chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Season and Thicken:
  1. Stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste.
  2. Let the sauce simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency (about 5-7 minutes).
Adjust Seasoning:
  1. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  2. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit more broth to reach the desired consistency.
Serve:
  1. Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Serve the creamy chili sauce over your favourite steak, garnishing with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Enjoy your steak with this rich, spicy, and creamy chili sauce!
